TSNO Regional Affiliates Operating Guidelines | Texas School Nurses Organization is a unified affiliate of the National Association of School Nurses. Members of the regional affiliates must comply with the unified membership requirements of TSNO/NASN.
A regional school nurse group, comprised of registered professional school nurse members, shall be eligible to become an affiliate of the corporation. The affiliate region shall hereafter be referred to as “TSNO Regional Affiliate.” Only one school nurse organization per region may become an affiliate.
In order to qualify for TSNO Region Affiliate privileges, the following criteria must be met:
The Regional President must be an active member of TSNO/NASN at least one year prior to election to the office of President of the TSNO Regional Affiliate and maintain active membership throughout the term of office.
The name of the TSNO Regional Affiliate school nurse organization must include:
TSNO Region XXXX or (current regional association’s name) - “an Affiliate of TSNO/NASN”
TSNO Regional Affiliate privileges include:
Membership Dues will be paid to the region. Each TSNO Regional Affiliate receives partial funding and professional support from its parent organizations: the Texas School Nurses Organization (TSNO) and the National Association of School Nurses (NASN). Each region will received $10 for each one year membership. This will be paid in the month following notification from NASN of the completed membership.
Representation on the TSNO Board of Directors, as a duty of the Regional President, with full voting privileges.
Subsidized attendance at TSNO Board of Directiors events, as directed by the TSNO Executive Committee, and according to TSNO Travel Guidelines.
Free dissemination of Regional information and events on TSNO website and Newsletter.
Eligibility for TSNO Recognition Awards, as Region of the Year and School Nurse of the Year.
