Becca Harkleroad went to nursing school to become a school nurse and is a Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN). Her passion for legislative advocacy started with Nurse Day at the Capitol and led her to obtain a Master of Public Health degree prior to becoming the Executive Director of Texas School Nurses Organization. In this role, Harkleroad represents school nurses on the Texas Public Health Coalition, Texas Nurses Association's Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition, Texas Coalition for Healthy Minds, and Texas Stock Albuterol Task Force. She sits on the National Board for Certification of School Nurses and currently serves as its President-Elect.
Harkleroad is excited to advance the mission of the Texas School Nurses Organization as its Executive Director, where she is guided by the belief that school nurses are the bridge between a student's health and their education, improving health and life outcomes at the individual, campus, and community levels.
