Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
IDEA is a law ensuring services to children with disabilities throughout the nation. IDEA governs how states and public agencies provide early intervention, special education and related services to more than 6.5 million eligible infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities. Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC)
The WSCC model expands on the eight elements of CDC’s coordinated school health (CSH) approach and is combined with the whole child framework. CDC and ASCD (formerly the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) developed this expanded model - in collaboration with key leaders from the fields of health, public health, education, and school health - to strengthen a unified and collaborative approach designed to improve learning and health in our nation’s schools.
